1. Overview
Muscular back pain can be considered as one of the most common spine related problems. Almost everyone suffers from this at some point in life. It is caused when the muscles supporting the spine are overworked, stretched a bit much or injured. These muscles are responsible for doing everyday work – even simple as helping us move, bend or twist. But when those muscles are strained, doing all these activities can be uncomfortable. It can either cause suddenly from an impact or accident, or may occur over time. Normally, it’s not a serious condition but it can interfere a lot with doing simple everyday activities.
2. Causes
One of the most common cause for spine muscular pain is muscle strain. When the muscles are stretched more than what’s comfortable, it causes strain. It can happen due to a sudden impact like lifting heavy weight or twisting the body suddenly. A poor posture or lack of physical movement can also decrease the muscle endurance over time. Weak muscles also make one more prone to strain. Stress can also play a role in causing strain as tense muscles are more likely to cramp. Weird sleeping positions can also cause spine muscular pain.

3. High Risk Individuals

5. Clinical Findings by Doctor
When patient walks in with problems of back pain, the first step is usually checking the alignment and posture of the spine. Any tender spots or tight knots are found by applying gentle pressure along the back muscles. The patient is asked to bend forward, lean back or twist to identify the discomfortness and the origin of pain. The strength and flexibility is also checked as it can also contribute to the pain. If the symptoms are severe, then X-rays or MRIs can be done to get a clear picture of what’s happening.
